A few installation tips: mount a motion sensor in a corner of the room about two meters up, facing the door or the hallway and not an air conditioner, an oven or a sunny window, which can cause false alerts. With a magnetic alarm, make sure the magnet sits right next to the unit when the door is closed. Most smart sensors work only on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, so check that the signal reaches the spot, and replace the batteries before a long trip.
